Don’t Forget: Planning Ahead

If you’re a planner you’ve likely already checked to see that the hotel has Direct TV and that your flight is on an airline with great safety ratings. But there are a few things you may have overlooked so take some extra time to plan a little harder.

See if the hotel is under construction. There’s nothing more sure to ruin a vacation than the sound of hammers at 6am. Call ahead to see if anything’s being worked on and don’t forget to ask about nearby properties as well.

Find out the rules on your attractions. Showing up to the museum on Monday morning only to find out it’s closed on Mondays is more than stressful. Plan ahead by looking at schedules before you arrive and change your travel dates if necessary.

Weight your luggage. With so many new regulations on baggage it’s important not to get to the airport with a 51 pound bag. Get on a home scale without, then with your bag and chart the difference to ensure you’re not unpacking at the terminal.
